Gillespies Wave, Middle Gauley

Lots of rain at the end of July and beginning of August brought the Middle Gauley to an amazing 20,000 cfs, enabling us to get on the rarely seen world class play feature which appears. This is the video from an amazing after work session with some of my fellow video boaters.

On May 9th lots of rain pushed the New River up to 16 feet on the Fayette Station bridge gauge or about 50 grand in cubic feet per second (basically 50 swimming pools coming down the river every second). Footage from Kevin Yount of Bryce Hamilton's and his run at Fayette Station. This is just a teaser for all the big water action footage that occurred in the gorge and dries section that day.
