Sanshou é uma arte marcial desenvolvida originalmente pelas forças armadas chinesas, baseada no estudo intenso de vários métodos tradicionais combinado com o avanço dos esportes de combate e metodologia de treinamento.
Atualmente, o Sanshou (ou Boxe Chinês) é praticado como um esporte de combate, podendo ser ou não conduzido com equipamentos de segurança, as competições seguem regras que restringem determinadas táticas e técnicas do kung-fu tradicional para segurança dos participantes.
Entretanto, o Sanshou continua sendo uma arte marcial completa, que ensina a golpear com braços e pernas, derrubar, agarrar e contra atacar. Nas competições desportivas, não é permitido o uso de cotovelos e joelhos, tão pouco submissões em solo.

The northeast stop for Brazils VQS 09/10 tour hit Maracaipe Beach this past saturday the 07/18/09. The contest was marked by the strong sun, fun waves and tons of kids, they came in vans from neighboring states to compete. The contest had a great atmosphere in front of Pousada dos Coqueiros and the fun was contagious.

Luan Oliveira was in Sao Paulo a while back to meet up with some friends, so we followed him around for a weekend to watch him skate. On the 11th of April, Volcom Brazil finished its last
regional VQS event at Baleia Beach on the north
shore of Sao Paulo. With really good surfing and
sets reaching 6 feet, kids from all over showed up
to compete for a place in Brazil's VQS Final, Paella
Fish, schedualed to happen the next day.
