Dean Potter free Basejumps off The Eiger

Climbing up the west ridge of the Eiger and found his new jumping spot, at 9,000 vertical foot, 3 minute flight and landing nearly 6 kilometers away.
Potter continues to push the boundaries of BASE jumping.

This amazing video captures the record setting jump, and includes some other hair-raising footage.

Skullcandy @ Etnies European Skateboard Championships 2009

The 9th edition of the ESC (that's European Skate Champs folks) went down in Basel, Switzerland from 6-9 August with Skullcandy laying on the beats. The nerds behind the show told us it was some kind of "series of experiments in anti-gravity, human particle collisions and theories of relativity" - hell, we just thought we were in for a skate comp. Seeing as the Swiss are a nation of peace and great cheese 'n chocolate we felt we'd go and run some tests of our own so with Georges Agonkouin and Severin von Ow plus several other Skullcandy riders in force we headed across to lay some down. Check out how they got on and grab a peek of 14 year old Axel Cruysberghs slaying everything before him.

Once again the European skateboard scene comes together in Basel from August 6th to 9th, for the 9th edition of the etnies European Skateboard Championships. Confirmed skateboarders are Juergen Horrwarth from Berlin, who won miniramp last year, Phil Zwijsen from Belgium, who won street and last year’s Girl’s Jam winner Ianire Elorriaga from Spain, as well as Ricardo Paterno from the Netherlands, the winner of the recent AmsterDamnAm competition and crowd’s favorite Axel Cruysberghs from Belgium.

Already on Thursday we kick off with the Junior Champs in four age groups, but just the very best top 10 of the overall junior ranking continue to skateboard on Saturday in the qualification.
