The Moonshine Conspiracy stays true to the roots of surf filmmaking in releasing the anticipated fourth and latest project, “A Brokedown Melody” under the new banner, Woodshed Films. The title track is written & performed by Moonshiner Jack Johnson, who also showcases his surfing skills. The film explores the times, travels and experiences of a tribe of surfers who search for the spark of life and look to pass it on to the younger generation.

“A Brokedown Melody” takes a step back from the informative approach and allows the viewer to experience surfing in a different context. In a more traditional surf film format, “A Brokedown Melody” allows the visuals of the latest surfing combined with music, images and select commentary to tell the story of a surfer’s journey.

"I am flying home. Venezuela is a Spanish speaking dream I've just had, that included the rocky topography I love. The nights in the jungle required camping in a gloriously a wild paradise, complete with bathing in a river, and roasting chickens on a stick over a fire. All of this shared with 20 other skydivers, and that perfect and priceless view of Angel Falls. I had flown at 7,000 mi. to stand on the top of Angel Falls and step off its edge. After eight flights on five different aircraft it was time to fly to the top. The clouds, which had occluded the launch point, had finally moved off to the east. All the key operations sites were now clear. The Bell 206 helicopter swooped in and threw up a pelting cloud of dust. The loadmaster anxiously waved us on, as I ran toward it with our gear in tow. We rose slowly but steadily, straddling the cliff wall as we ascended. Five minutes later we crested the top of the falls and I was impressed to see all the camera people roped into their various perches and ledges. A spongy plateau 75-ft. from the falls was the landing zone. We offloaded the helo and waved goodbye to Oswaldo, it's heroic pilot.
