The final chapter of 'The Making of the Rip Curl Pro Search – Mexico' explodes into action with highlights of Day 4 of the contest. More epic waves, more phenomenal surfing, more sick camera angles and the final outcome of the year's best surfing event.

When we all thought it couldn't get any better (well, we did sort of expect to even so...) La Jolla dished up one final hurrah for the 2006 Rip Curl Pro Search WCT. When we arrived at the beach on the morning of Day 4 it was obvious the event was going to finish that afternoon - making it the only ASP World Tour event to run and complete it's main event in the first three days of competition.

Chapter 6 kicks off 8 days out from the event, with the world's surfing elite touching down in Mexico to begin the journey. Excited & full of anticipation - no one really knew they were in for the ride of their lives...

And what a ride it would be, as we move into Day 3 of the Rip Curl Pro Search, which yet again delivers Mexican perfection. The quality of waves and surfing is as high as most have seen and La Jolla continues to mark its place in surfing folklore.

Chapter 5 follows Rip Curl Event Managers Andy Higgins & Chuy Madigral to La Jolla for the deciding Town Meeting. Meeting with the Mayor and other villagers, the plan was agreed on and our place in 'somewhere in Mexico' was born.

This clip also shows Day 2 of competition, where the perfect right-hander just kept barrelling its brains off.

With the help of local La Jolla community representative Pablo, Andy and Chuy worked on organizational plans and getting things in motion for the major Rip Curl Pro Search planning stage.

Chapter 2 of 'The Making of the Rip Curl Pro Search WCT' introduces the pro surfing world to a secret spot in Mexico known as La Jolla. Sixteen Mexican surfers were given the chance to compete the Squalo Trials contest with the winning earning a spot in the main event against Kelly Slater.

Congratulations to Puerto Escondido 22-year-old Oscar Moncada for winning the Squalo Trials and becoming the first Mexican to compete an ASP WCT. Oscar surfed amazing in the Trials, ruling the 10ft swell to comfortably win the Squalo Trials final and make surfing history.

The Rip Curl Pro Search held 'somewhere in Mexico' in June 2006 will be remembered by many as the greatest surfing event in ASP history. We scored perfect waves & it was a special life experience for all involved. It was hard work though & this film shows life behind the scenes of running a surfing event.

The Rip Curl Pro Search WCT held 'somewhere in Mexico' in June 2006 has been labelled the greatest World Tour surfing event in ASP history.

The secret right-hander called 'La Jolla' pumped out perfect wave after perfect wave for one week, serving up a memorable life experience for every person involved.
