Riverboarding / Hydrospeed Fayette Station Rapid at 50,000 cfs

On May 9th lots of rain pushed the New River up to 16 feet on the Fayette Station bridge gauge or about 50 grand in cubic feet per second (basically 50 swimming pools coming down the river every second). Footage from Kevin Yount of Bryce Hamilton's and his run at Fayette Station. This is just a teaser for all the big water action footage that occurred in the gorge and dries section that day.

NOTE: Sorry Charl, I had a blonde moment - I sped through writing the credits and left out the country responsible for the two best shots in the entire video, SOUTH AFRICA - Charl's corkscrew off the waterfall (early in the vid) and the 30ft / 10m falls (the last epic falls shot). Not that anyone watched the credits anyway, but just to clarify. =)

This was my first run on Niko's hydrospeed. By the time we got to the lower section which had a lot of drops similar to this, I was hooked. The hydrospeed dives and takes holes and drops better than any board I've ever ridden. I bought it and brought it to the USA. =)

Last year's FLI Award winner for "Riverboarder of the Year", Raphael Besson (France) does a complete flip in a huge surf hole and keeps on surfing.

This was at the 10th Annual Dora Baltea gathering in Italy, which is a gathering for riverboarders and hydrospeeders from around the world to get together and have some fun - meaning 2 sections of river or entire rivers each day!
