This week we head to Falls Creek where Canada's Charles Reid took a clean sweep at the Stylewars snowboard event, winning both the 28 Stairs rail comp and the overall win. We then follow Reid to Perisher where he breaks the world record for longest rail slide, gliding in at an impressive 54.8 metres. Meanwhile US rider Chas Guldemond walks home 15-grand happier after claiming overall victory at the event. Lastly we head across to the States where Skuff's US correspondents Jordan + Claire get the dirt on Tony Hawk when they caught up with his mum (and the man himself) at a stop-off on his Boom Boom Huck Jam tour.

The Shakedown 2008. Watch as Vans Snow team riders Darrell Mathes, Zac Marben, Chris Grenier and Scotty Arnold go up to Quebec for this seasons Empire "SHAKEDOWN". The event was what snowboarding is all about... having fun !! Check out the Vans Halftime Show where the local skaters try to make it to the bottom of the same handrail as the snowboarders were riding in the rail jam. Anyways, big ups to Vans Canada for throwing such a great event!

Planet Earth's Shop Wars: Bear Mountain

Fourteen shops converged at Bear on Feb. 25 to compete in the Planet Earth Shop Wars. Each team was made up of three contestants, with a rider competing in one of the three different sessions: a quarterpipe, a 60-foot kicker and a rail jam in The Scene consisting of seven jibs. Once the rail jam was done and the scores tallied, Darkside Snowboard Shop was named as the winning shop. Here are all the results:

1st Place Overall (Best Team): Darkside Snowboard Shop: Niko Cioffi, Jeff Kramer, Jeremy Grendahl

Best Quarterpipe Rider: Cody Rosenthal, Active Ride Shop. $1,000

Pee Wee Sherman Rail Jam

On Febuary 10th, Tyrol Basin, Wisconsin was home to the first Pee Wee Sherman Rail Jam. First off, to even compete in this contest you needed to be 18 & under since Sherman wanted to focus on the up and coming shreds in the Midwest. With that said, you know these kids were mad hungry and going to chuck onto these rails ...a nd huck-foo they did.

With weather in the midwest being less than favorable the last couple weeks with below freezing temps, the idea of a "smooth" contest wasn't seeming to realistic. But when we awoke that day it was sunny. It had warmed up enough to hang out and shred with out any complaints. Each competitor was given a Tall-T jersey replacing the standard bib, with 84 kids registering it got thuggy in the streets of Wisco ... if Wisconsin can get thuggy.
