VQS SEASLUG SURF SERIES Zuma Bch, CA 09/19/09

The time of year had come for our annual trip to Malibu, California for the first Seaslug event of the new season. A combo swell was filling in and graced the beach of Zuma the morning of the event, which made for peaky rippable conditions. With the stage set and kids frothing to get the SeaSlug event started, we kicked it off in style at 8am. Here's how it all went down.

First Annual Powder Mountain MX

Skullcandy was on hand for the first annual Powder Mountain MX. Jeremy McGrath who helped design the course was on hand to give fans a great show. While the event was a huge success an unfortunate accident led to the passing away of one of Skullcandy's amateur team members - Tanner Krahenbuhl. The truck he was driving down the canyon in lost its brakes and rolled several times. Please watch the memorial to Tanner at the end of this video. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

The time we all spent down at Lowers last week was was nothing less than terrific. One of the best things about the event is getting to see and catch up with all of the people that we see only once a year for the contest. Check out the video of everybody shredding and a big congrats out to Andrew Doheny, who won Open Juniors for the second year in a row, and all of the Volcom youth who gave it their all at lowers.
