Jean-Yves and Loris win the 2007 Hike&Ride
In front of a packed house at the Kaufleuten in Zurich, Jean-Yves Michellod and Loris Falquet became the first-ever Swiss team to win the Red Bulll Hike&Ride.
All of this year’s films showed tons of passion and as much powder as possible. For the second year in a row, the UK team’s production was a real crowd-pleaser, as were many of the other clips.
Long-time friends Jean-Yves and Loris let no obstacle stand in their way on route to victory. Filming in sub-standard conditions, the Swiss/French team still managed to find big lines and fresh tracks. Their editing was excellent, as was their use of unique camera angles designed to bring their story to life.
“You can always find snow somewhere in Switzerland,” claimed Jean-Yves and his team partner optimistically, despite the spring temperatures in Zurich.
Perhaps the most amazing part of their partnership and work together is the fact that Jean-Yves is paralyzed from the knees down. Despite his injury, Jean-Yves is full of passion and spirit, and he is an inspiration to all of us.
Jean-Yves, Loris and their friends hiked and rode in Zinal and Grimentz, often pulling Jean-Yves up the mountain with ropes to find fresh snow in the Alps.
As they say in French … Chapeau les mecs. Chapeau!
