A huge part of Dominican culture is related to baseball. This clip shows a little of the sights, sounds and energy at a Dominican baseball game. There is dancing, drinking, partying and even cheerleaders. Dominicans LOVE their baseball! Hopefully this clip helps show just how much.

It was shot at the Estadio Quisqueya in Santo Domingo and features the Dominican and Caribbean champions of the 2003/2004 season the Tigres of Licey.

Major leaguers such as Pedro Martinez, Miguel Tejada, Sammy Sosa, Vladamir Guerrero, Albert Pujols, Jose Reyes and David Ortiz come from the Dominican Republic.

When Pedro Martinez is pitching a game for the Red Sox, everybody in the DR watches the game! If you walk into any bar, the game will be on. At the local colmado there will be a group of men sitting on plastic chairs, drinking Presidente "grandes" from plastic cups, yelling and rooting at the TV.
