In the past, women were given the mass-media message that they were supposed to be thin. But over time, that look has given way to the curves of celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and the muscles of Madonna. Now, it's very common to see women wearing sleeveless blouses and showing arms with muscle. Indeed, after Title IX and the emergence of the female athlete, it's common now to see women flexing their biceps and even more typical are women who have large, cut arms -- and are considered fashionable and sexy.
