After finishing 2nd in Tahiti to Damian Hobgood, Mick took some time out with two of his best mates Joel Parkinson and Dean Morrison on a well deserved freesurfing trip to Indonesia.
Keen to capitalise on his win earlier in the season at Snapper Rocks, Mick headed to Chile with high hopes but came unstuck against Andy Irons in the semi-finals.
Mick then travelled to J-Bay as the defending event champion confident of another strong result.
