Hawaiian teenager Alana Blanchard upset a quality field of European surfers to win the Rip Curl Pro Junior at Liencres Beach on the eve of the Rip Curl Girls Festival. The win earns Alana the Wildcard entry into Round 1 of the ASP World Tour event.

French phenom Pauline Ado finished runner-up in the event, giving her the 2007 ASP Europe Pro Junior title over defending champion Anne Lee Curren (yep, Tom Curren's daughter)
