River Paiva

The county of Castelo de Paiva boasts of dazzling views over the river Douro and lies in a green region full of vineyards.
But the town has another river as its ex-libris, the Paiva, which flows around the small island of Castelo (reminding us of an old fluvial fortress) and is excellent for water sports (there are boats to rent and an open-air swimming-pool), as well as offering a series of fine fluvial beaches. There is also the possibility of making river cruises along the Douro.
