ANOTHER ONE FROM THE ARCHIVES!

Locations: West Side & East Side, Oahu

Secret Spot and Portlock's China Walls.

This was going to be my only chance this next few days to go out and shoot surf so I wanted to go out of my way to bring you 2 different corners of the island. Over in the country Kaena point was recieving early signs of this weekends swell. While mid day the swell was picking up over on the east side at China Walls. Waves were steadily picking up as the day went on.

Mon, 12/03/2007 - 12:57am I think the more important point would be to note that it is a very "local" spot (notice the lack of light skin people). That said, having grown up in Waimanalo, I would make the trek to surf there and other (more secret) spots. I always went by myself, not bringing a crowd and always bringing a good attitude. That will get you further than anything else, and nothing will piss off the locals than 6-7 blond California surfers piling out of a north shore special thinking they're going to own it. The people of the west side have a lot of Aloha, but they got to get respect first. Oh yeah, I'm a light skinned, light haired, green eyed haole... Nice vid though...brings back memories of when I lived on that island...thanks

Sun, 12/02/2007 - 11:41pm I know, but when a kind local surfer asks you to keep it a secret spot, well I am happy to follow their wishes.
