Lots of great racing this weekend!

It isn't often that I look forward to a call to wake me up before 4am, but this morning I was anticipating it. My phone rang at 3:50am and on the other end was Roch Horton super happy to have arrived at the Homestead (Wasatch Front 100 finish line) before the 24 hour mark! Sub 24 at Wasatch means acceptance to the Royal Order of the Crimson Cheetah, a Cheetah belt buckle and participation in the ceremony. Congrats Roch!

Same race, Kyle Skaggs in his first 100 blazed it in 19:35, which I think is a new course record by 10 minutes. Liz Irvine also in her first 100 ran 23:29, the sixth woman ever to go under 24 hours! Hiroki Ishikawa finished the grand slam this year, slipping his final race in just under 30 hours. So many stories out there and great finishes.

Also this weekend was the IAU 100 World Championships, final results are now posted online. The US women placed 4th, with Kami Semick placing 9th, Devon Crosby-Helms 15th and Julie Udchachon 16th. The US men placed 3rd with Howard Nippert 8th, Greg Crowther 11th and Chad Ricklefs 17th.

Finally another race I was watching was the McKenzie River 50k, results are not yet posted.
